Get The Look For Less: Burberry

Burberry London Fashion Week 2016

There have been so many amazing shows off the back of London Fashion Week! Topshop Unique's super cool looks, Henry Hollands bold prints and Sophia Webster's amazing Mermaidy-ness... However, this weeks shopping post had to be inspired by the amazing Burberry show!

Strong, structured jackets contrasted against sheer, lace materials... caged heels mixed with chunky sliders... and the confirmation that backpacks are set to stay. Burberry yet again managed to maintain their high fashion styling and classic pieces, with an extremely modern, Military twist.

The overall vibe was relaxed and easy wearing - dress up or down, but always make a statement.

Burberry London Fashion Week 2016

One of my favourite bloggers, Reem from Five Five Fabulous - attended LFW with Travelex to bring together a brilliant round up of the Top 5 London Fashion week trends, and my fave from these was the Military trend.

Based on this, I wanted to show you how to get the Burberry look for less, as this Military trend is one that seems to come back into fashion regularly. The colour pallet is easy to wear and can be styled all year round.

Here's how to get the look for less from your favourite high street stores:

Look 1: The Black Lace Dress

Trust good old Topshop have the perfect LBD! This lace dress by Goldie at Topshop emulates the patterned lace and sheer materials at Burberry. A backpack was the only accessory to be seen with at the Burberry show. The studded detail on this black, leather look bag gives a strong nod to the Military trend.

Studded Backpack: £32
Total - £84

Look 2: Yellow and Sliders

I love how Burberry have toughened up this super-feminine dress with chunky, black leather sliders. What could be a super sophisticated, evening dress is immediately transformed into a zesty, daytime look. Recreate the same style with ASOS's lace and pleat mini dress. Their embellished sliders could easily be worn to strut down a runway...

Yellow Lace Dress: £48
Embellished Sliders: £45
Total: £93

Look 3 - The Military Jacket

Every wardrobe needs a structured black jacket in it, and if it has some gold embellishment in it, then that's a double win in my eyes... This tailored Missguided jacket is a steal at £60 (and it looks just like Mrs Beckhams!!) Why not add their gold body chain over the top to get Burberry's statement look?

Black Tailored Coat: £60
Gold Body Chain: £18
Total - £78

OOTD: Missguided in Manchester

Outfit of the day Rock On Holly

So, these blog post pictures were all literally taken in less than 1 minute... It must be a world record in Blog photography! I had been told by a friend of mine, about a car park in Manchester which has amazing views over the city. The car park featured in an article about the 'Top Ten Places to go on a First Date in Manchester". The article recommends going up at sunset to take in the views and then heading onto the Northern Quarter for a delicious meal...

I headed up there to take some blog photos and was unfortunately interrupted by a car park warden who said that we couldn't take any images. He was very nice about it, but it's a real shame we won't be able to use this location again, as it really was very cool!

My outfit:

Sleeveless jackets are so hot right now... Mine is a golden oldie from Never Fully Dressed. I teamed this with a Primark Polo neck (one of many!) and my ASOS bleached, ripped jeans. My slip on pumps* were a prize that I won in a Missguided twitter competition - just goes to show, you got to be in it to win it! ;-)

I wanted to keep my look quite simple so I accessorised with some cool chain earrings and ring from Rings and Tings.

Rings and Tings is fast becoming one of my fave jewellery sites! They have a huge range of accessories to suit all styles and they are SO affordable! You may have seen my ring featured in my Red Nose day blog post. And I have a few other bangles and bracelets that I need to style up!

Bite Me - It's Halloween...

So this year is actually the first year in the history of forever, where I am not doing anything for Halloween... Massive thumbs down. Yes, in the past I have been a Crazy Clown, a Disco Devil (don't ask) and even a crazy Rocker!

But this year, I will have to settle for sharing my Halloween look from our Creep It Real photoshoot with Rock On Ruby!

I LOVE our Halloween shoots! Each of us ROR girls got to choose a top from our range and style it up in our own way. Our inspo behind the shoot was very much "Kylie Jenner with PMS"

or rather, WWKD (what would Kylie do) for Halloween? We reckoned that a cool chick like her would go for her usual grunge style and throw in a cool top or accessory for an understated, gothic twist. This ain't fancy dress!

For my look, I chose our cropped Bite Me Sweater and paired this with my ASOS leather mini. I finished the look with my chunky shoe boots and this awesome Mamie checked shirt from Missguided.

The finishing touch was this black, floral headband from Primark. This beauty looks just like the other expensive versions that you see on the high street, but I think I got this for a steal at £1. Yes, literally ONE POUND. I nabbed it in Summer and as the colour was quite out of season at the time, it was in the sale. A great tip for finding bargains - shop ahead!

As you may have seen in my previous blog post, my Halloween make up was done by Sam at the Glamboxuk - she gave me an absolutely flawless base with amazing contouring, a smokey, glittery eye and a fab ombre lip. I totally didn't want to wash this off!

What are your plans for Halloween? Will you be dressing up or going for fashionable fancy dress?!
