Have a Fashionably Spooky Halloween!

With only 3 weeks to go until Halloween, the shops are already full to the brim of Pumpkins, fake spiders and crazy Halloween Costumes... But how's a girl supposed to look good these unflattering, cheap Supermarket suits?!

Well, for those fashion bloggers out there who want to look devilishly hot this Halloween, then I have found the website for you!

This online store provides a range of costumes for different ages and sizes -  from Tiny Teens to Curvy Ladies!

What I love most about these costumes are that they are designed with a fashionable flare! From cropped Witches Capes to Suspender Tights, it's very rare that you a find a fancy dress costume that is 'on trend'.

I would recommend the Halloween Tutus (shown above) as their bright colours are really eye catching - perfect for Halloween!

Then create your own spooktacular fancy dress with some fabulous false lashes and a pair of trendy tights!

My top picks would be:

Black Strap Around Bondage Tights £6.99 from Girly Night Out

These Bondage Tights were the talk of X Factor when Miss Cole wore them for her Live performance... Since then, an array of Celebs have copied the look and now you can too!

These black tights will funk up your look on Halloween night and will take you right through the party season!

Halloween is probably the one time of the year when absolutely anything goes!! So don't be afraid to try something a little different....

I LOVE these feathery False eyelashes!

Blue Lagoon Feather False Lashes £4.99 on Girly Night Out

What will you be this Halloween?! xx

Look Sparklingly Hot this Summer

Summer is Here.... and wow do I love All Saints new 'Look Book'!

Not one to follow the usual high street trends of colour blocking and cropped tops (which I do also enjoy!) All Saints have taken their usual grungy-glam look to another level this Summer:

Aztec Vest - £150, Lourdes Kick Jeans - £75 at All Saints

They were the brand that 'kick-started' the trend to wear chunky work boots and it looks like these are set to stay for another season! (Hurray!)

I love the combination of the delicate sequin vest with the chunky boots.

Check out All Saints range of gorgeous sparkly dresses and skirt, guaranteed to look gorgeous on holiday!

Aztec Dress - £295, Aztec Skirt - £165 Paloma Dress - £295 at All Saints

But unfortunately a beautiful item from this range will probably be more expensive than your Ryan Air flights abroad...!!

So if you're looking for a cheap, tribal fix, then head over to Topshop ASAP because this funky little aztec print vest top has just hit their Summer Sale!

Aztec Printed Cami reduced from £24 to £12 at Topshop

ASOS also have a few tribal numbers on their site and if you like the pastel prints of All Saints then you'll probably like this too:

Aztec Feather Vest - £18 on ASOS

Fab with denim shorts and a straw trilby hat!

And if you want to recreate that All Saints glamour, why not add your own sequins? Head to Ebay for your bargain beads!

Happy Daydreaming.......... xx

What Next?!

Well, I have to admit that I used to think that Next was purely for buying boring work clothes or dressing your mum on her Birthday...

But WOW what a transformation recently!?

Not only have Next introduced some gorgeous clothes the past few seasons, but their website is super easy to use too :-)

I love their latest Festival range:

Festival Fashion by Next

I love the neutral colours that they've put together - perfect for hiding the dirt whilst camping!!

My favourite look? It has to be this one:

And the best bit is that this whole look comes to less than £100!

- Khaki Printed Mac £35
- Cream Embroidered Cami £22
- 'Mid Wash' Denim Shorts £20 (Petites version available - woohoo!)
- Quilted Navy Wellies £25 - Bargain!!

I would maybe add a pair of outrageous earrings just to add a touch of glamour to this look:

Feather Earrings from River Island

I'm also a big fan of the models hair.... Very tempted to ask for a little 'ginge-tinge' when I visit the hairdressers tomorrow...!!

And speaking of Gingers - the latest addition to the Next website is ex-Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell!

The singer looks absolutely amaaazing in the lastest Next adverts for swimwear:

"She wore an itsy bitsy teeny weeeny yellow polka dot bikini...."

And boy does she wear it well! (I can see that polka dot bikin going in my holiday suitcase this Summer!)

At £40 for both the top and bottom, these bikinis could be seen to be a bit pricey... BUT! Their measurements are the same as Bras, so just pick the right cup size and you're definitely guaranteed the right fit!
As Geri herself says -

"Introducing my Swimwear... Cut to make you look sexy but give total support!"

Well, if it's good enough for the Ginge!

Happy Shopping Daydreamers xx

The Wooden Sky

So, I got invited to go and see a great band play in Manchester last week!

It was in a little venue in the Northern Quarter called Castle Hotel (which may have looked a bit pokey from the outside but was actually really cool inside...

Castle Hotel, Northern Quarter - Manchester

The detail inside the pub is really interesting and the room that the band played in had a great atmosphere - despite being a tad squashed!

So who is this mysterious band that I went to see??

They're called The Wooden Sky and whilst they are originally from Canada, they were touring the UK for a couple of weeks...

The guys have a great sound (the lead singers voice reminds me slightly of Rob Thomas who did that great song with Sanata a couple of years back!)

I couldn't resist getting a bit snap-happy at the venue!

I wanted to keep my outfit quite laid back as it was just a small venue... So I decided on these awesome black, ripped denim shorts from ASOS:

Amazing with little black ankle boots and my trusty leather jacket!

The shorts were a reaasonable £28 and will be a handy item for my spring wardrobe - and if it gets a bit chilly I'll jusy layer them over tights!

Hope you like The Wooden Sky, check out their stuff on YouTube - perfect daydreaming tunes! xxx

Legs 11!

Hey Dolly Girls...

It's been a busy, busy week for me! I've recently joined the Independent Fashion Bloggers site (which is all very exciting) and there have been lots of fun things happening at work too...

But, all work and no play makes Holly a Dull Dolly - so I managed to make it out for a few drinky poos on Friday night!

Black is back!

Bag - Primark, White Flower Ring - Primark
Diamante Ring (on same hand) Miss Selfridge

Pink Rose Ring - Primark Approx £2
Assorted Bracelets from Accessorise and Primark
Earrings (Just seen!) Topshop

I wanted to keep my outfit simple but 'funk' it up with a daring pair of over the knee stockings and loads of jewellery...

I love these Black Striped Stockings from one of my fave sites for accessories - Girlynightout  I think they'll look just as good with a pair of denim shorts or sticking out over a pair of boots!

At a petite 5 ft 3, I'm quite pleased with the 'leg lengthening' effect of the stripes!! :-)

My other top tip for gaining a little extra height?! HEELS! They're a short girls best friend....

Happy Shopping Daydreamers! xx

Being Stupid is Banned.

Follow my blog with bloglovin

Now, as my Blog has been named 'heydollydaydream', you can imagine the reasons why...

Surely I can't be alone in spends a few minutes (or hours!) a day with my head in the clouds wondering "What If'?" or "Would that top go with that skirt?!" and "Why don't we just...." etc etc

You know how general mind-rambling can go!

So I have to admit that I love the recent Deisel advert called - Be Stupid

The words of the Advert really get you thinking...

"Like Balloons we are filled with hopes and dreams,
But over time a Single Sentence creeps into our lives...

Don't Be Stupid"

Now, my praise for this inspiring advert may be considered a little contraversial seeing as the ad campaign has already been Banned due to its 'Indecent and Antisocial' images....

See what you think:

My favourite!

Now, I'm not too sure if I would be considered "Smart" or "Stupid"... but I do know that I LOVE this funky little outfit from Diesels Spring Summer 2011 Collection:

Tshirt - $45 (Approximately £28)
Skirt - $120 (Approximately £75)

Roll on Summer!

What do you think of the adverts Daydreamers?! xx

Postponed?! But Why!!

So, last week I was gearing up for a night at the Academy when a very shocking email popped up in my Inbox...

Lifehouse POSTPONED?!

This has never happened to me before!!

I had already picked out a fabulously casual outfit - Faded denim shorts, black tights and cream shirt under my trusty aviator jacket!

Cream Tab Front Silk Shirt - £40

This cream shirt from Topshop haas been a great little buy this season! You can dress it up or down - it's even suitable for work!

Plus the gorgeous lightweight silk means it will easily take me through to Spring (just need to get it to the Dry Cleaners which is a bit of a pain...!!)

So, seeing as I won't be making it to see Lifehouse until 13th June (aaaaages away!!) I will have to leave you all with this video instead:

This is possibly one of THE most beautiful songs in the world - and it doesn't hurt that the main singer is very easy on the eye...

Enjoy Daydreamers xx

Out with the old and in with the NEW!

Hey Dolly Daydreamers!

Good things are happening Chez Moi at the moment... The painters and decorators have been in and my bedroom has been totally revamped.

So! This called for one MASSIVE clear out! But what to do with all the many, many clothes that I don't wear any more?!

Well, as they say "One girls trash is another girls treasure!" And so I have entered the world of Ebay...

These Boots are made for walking... But who will wear them next?!
It's a shame to keep these fab River Island Boots sitting in my wardrobe collecting dust... so onto Ebay they go!

Cream Zara Tshirt with Gold Studded detail
"We Can Be Anyone" and this Cream Zara Tshirt can be anyones too!

Italian Leather Waistcoat - Forpen
Italian Leather - Ooh how very European!

There are plenty of ways to make cash from your cast offs these days...

 > Ebay, MyBig Wardrobe and ASOS all have online marketplaces where you can sell or swap clothes.

> Car Boot Sales - just check your local paper!

> Clothes Swap - Get all your Gal Pals together and see what goodies you can get!

> OR be a sweetie and donate them to Charity!

My Top Tips for Ebay??

 - Send EVERYTHING by Recorded Delivery so you can track it! Items lost in the post are the sellers responsibility (I learnt this the hard way!!)

- List items when people are most likely to be shopping online - eg Evenings and Weekends

- Download the Ebay App to your phone so you can quickly respond to any questions!

Psst! If you would like to check out any of my items, just do a quick search for hollyo2006   :-)

And so... as the bidding ends on my skinny black Zara jeans, I can rest easy knowing that the money I make will go towards me new wardrobe (Woohoo!!) and that my pants have a happy new home...

Happy Shopping Daydreamers xx

WONDERful MAC!

Wow!

Just when I thought MAC Make-up couldn't get any better, I find out they have only gone and brought out a new range of make up inspired by Wonderwoman?!

Image from marvelous-girl.com
A true Female Superhero, a great Fancy Dress Costume and a super bold Make Up look... Ooh, all my favourite things!

For Beauty with POW! This range isn't for the fainthearted... With a mission to banish bad beauty looks and fight off dull skin - Wonderwoman is here to help! (Phew!!)

Take a look at the mighty range that MAC will be introducing to stores near you THIS March:

Wonderwoman Make Up Collection -

Amazing!

The collection comes in retro 'comic' book style packaging and includes products such as the 'Bulletproof' Make Up Bag, 'Invincible' Mirrors and super inspirational product names such as 'Spitfire' and 'Heroine'.

It's Girl Power all the way! (Plus, it just shows that even Superheroes don't wake up with naturally red lips and full lashes!! There's hope for us all...)

My top pick from the Wonderwoman range would have to be a scorching hot lippy... For a pout that can really pack a punch why not try the Russian Red lipstick:

Wonderwoman MAC Lipstick 'Red Russian'

But be quick!!

This lipstick is apparently in demand and can already be found on Ebay selling at £30 inc P&P!! Gosh! At this rate, even Superman will want one....

Happy Shopping Dolly Daydreamers!

Stop that Copycat!

Don't you just hate it when you've been daydreaming about a fabulous outfit for a while...

..... You know when you're going to wear it.... You've mentally picked your jewellery...

And then the time finally comes to wear the fabulous outfit and Shock Horror, three other girls walk into the bar with them SAME Topshop top on as you. Cringe.

Well yes, you can smile politely and say something smart like "Oh Snap! Haha!" Or... you can get a bit clever.

The High Street is a-maaaazing for designer style on a budget! And while everyone does have their own unique style, often if you think a top is fabulous chances are a hundred other girls will too!

That's why when I went shopping last, I decided to try somewhere I wouldn't normally go -

Dorothy Perkins!

And WOW has that shop changed since I last went in!?

With racks of clothes that wouldn't look out of place in Topshop I have to admit several things caught my eye...

1. Their gorgeous range of Patent Nude Shoes:

Nude Platform Court Shoe - £32, Dorothy Perkins

(As worn by Livy in my blog 'Behind the Scenes with Livy')

There are several colours and tyles in the range - so it's less likely someone else will have exactly the same pair!

2. Their new ranges by original designers! Thats right, Dorothy Perkins now has several racks of clothes by other designers including Uttam London - "Designed for the Indiviual!"

Uttam London in Dorothy Perkins
'Designed for the Individual'

To congratulate myself on my new find, I treated myself to this gorgeous floral playsuit:

Floral Playsuit, £26 Dorothy Perkins
The playsuit can be a tricky item of clothing to wear, but this super mini-suit comes with hidden shorts underneath AND clever little poppers to make going to the Ladies Room a little easier!

Popper Button Detail!
I <3 the 'Cath Kidston' style floral print!

Perfect for Spring!

I'm going to start wearing my playsuit with a brown skiny belt and Over the Knee socks now, then with bare legs and nude heels (as above!) in warmer weather.

Yummy AND original!

Happy Shopping Dolly Daydreamers! xx

Behind the Scenes with Livy

Well Dolly Girls!

It's been a busy week, what with Valentines Treats, Birthdays and Photoshoots - when's a girl supposed to Blog?!

Last week, I got the chance to go behind the scenes on a photoshoot with an up and coming singer - Livy!

The photos were being shot to go on her management company's website and also on her new Myspace page which will be launched very soon.... (Watch this space!)

Livy's style is pure pop with an operatic twist - think Pixie Lott meets Charlotte Church (but with a way better voice!)

Take a look at the popstrel in action:

A pose that Britney would be proud of!
(in her early days...)
