OOTD: All Black

Black Fur gilet and Leather Trousers

And so, my love for fur gilets continues!

After the happy arrival of my ombre gilet from Lily Lulu Fashion, I was immediately convinced that I needed more, possibly in every colour... Luckily, this black fur gilet from Firetrap at USC was just what I was looking for.

This is slightly longer than my cream one, so it does seem more like a sleeveless jacket than a waistcoat type thing. However, this does not make it any less appealing!

I wore my gilet over the black Boohoo blazer that I styled up for my Clueless inspired outfit post - this time however, I wore it as a top. Perfect for when you're going for a nice meal or a few Christmas drinks!

Tip: Leather trousers are an essential for any wardrobe in Winter - and I say trousers NOT leggings!! Avoid the dreaded camel toe by going for something a bit sturdier!! These pants are classics from Topshop and have got me through the past few seasons.

The finishing touch? Black patent heels from Primark. Bar-gain.

Tell me, how often are you wearing ALL Black at the moment, without even realising it!?

OOTD: A Grey Day

I LOVE Manchester. Yes, it does seem to be under a permanent rain cloud, but despite the ongoing threat of frizzy, windswept hair, Manchester is actually an awesome city. Just before Christmas, I joined a group on Facebook for Manchester Bloggers and it has showed me a whole new side to the place I call home... Yes, Manchester is giving London a serious run for it's money in the style stakes!

There are so many fashion events and clothing companies based in Manchester. There's a real buzz about the city... Plus, I love that in Manchester the style is so varied, you can spend hours people watching and checking out street style looks! This time last year I was tempted to make the move to London. My boyfriend lives down South and I suppose I was thinking "new year, new start". But in the end I realised that the problem wasn't Manchester itself, just my life here!

I was getting fed up of the same routine and had itchy feet. In the end I decided to focus on a new work project (Rock On Ruby) which has since become my full time job! So Manchester is where I'm staying for now... Who knows what the future holds!

I shot these pictures just near Manchester Cathedral. The weather is bitterly cold at the moment so I kept wrapped up in woolly layers and over the knee boots. A grey look, for a grey day! I have to point out my jumper which I think looks quite Topshop-esque, is actually a Primark special!

What was your fave thing about Manchester?

Photoshoot with GRAFEA

It's addictive scrolling through  instagram, checking out fashion inspo and street style pics... And that's where I stumbled across Manchester, based brand, GRAFEA. I have been drooling over their leather backpacks for a while now so was thrilled to get the opportunity to do a photoshoot with them!! (Wooohoooo!!) Grafea have worked with some top bloggers such as Victoria from In The Frow, Sarah Ashcroft and now little old me :-D Now I am NO model at all, but I have seen enough America's Next Top Model to get by... ;-) Luckily, Amy from Grafea guided me through the shoot and here's the finished result!

OOTD: We wanted to let the main point of focus be the bag, so I kept the outfit simple.
Coat: Zara, Trilby: Topshop, Jeans: Primark, Gloves: ASOS Tshirt from Rock On Ruby!

We shot with the gorgeous Baby Grafea in Peach (coming online very soon...) and it was ridiculously gorgeous. The leather is lovely and thick and the colour is even more beautiful in real life. Even though this is the smaller size, this would have more than enough space for all your essentials, eg phone, keys, make up bag!

It was so interesting doing the shoot with Grafea - I didn't realise how tricky it might be to get a front facing outfit shot with a bag that's supposed to go on your back! I can see Grafea backpacks being huge this Summer for the festical season, so keep an eye out!

Have you heard of Grafea before? See their full range online at www.grafea.co.uk - you'll be spoilt for choice on colour!

Tis The Season To Be Jolly...

So, I know it's still November... But this year I'm feeling particularly festive and can't WAIT to start rockin' my Christmas jumpers! Last week I was lucky enough to be able to take my pick of gorgeous tops from New Look's Christmas range to style up, and I chose this beauty!

There was a really cute selection of tops to choose from, but this one immediately caught my eye. I loved the fun text and of course, I love a good slogan :-)

As it's quite a lightweight knit, I layered this over a plain rock on ruby slouch vest and teamed it with my ripped ASOS jeans for a laidback look.

Tip: I'm normally a size 8 in tops but got this in a 10 for a looser fit.

Christmas jumpers aren't just for day time wear! I'll definitely be dressing mine up for the party season with killer heels and maybe some sequins...

Team with a red lip for a very merry look - this lippy is a fave of mine - Lady Danger by Mac.

These beauty's make a showstopping addition to any #OOTD and can you believe they are from Primark?!?!!?! YES, PRIMARK! I'm in love...

:-D I couldn't resist!!

You can see New Look's full range of festive tops online here >> New Look Christmas Jumpers*
Let me know which top you would have picked... Have you started wearing your Crimbo jumpers yet?!

OOTD: This & That

One of my favourite things to do on a free the weekend is hang out in Manchester's Northern Quarter. The area is always buzzing and I love the quirky bars and shops that are hidden around the little alleyways and back streets.

These impromptu pics were snapped after I discovered a tiny alley way with this interesting mural.. The day was grey and gloomy and this painted, rainy wall was the perfect back drop to a Manchester Saturday.

My OOTD includes skinny ripped jeans from Primark, my fave striped Topshop Tee and this new Topshop cardi. I LOVE this cardigan. It's so snuggly and goes with everything!

Guess which way we went?! ;-)

What's your fave place in Manchester's Northern Quarter?

Make Love Not Horcruxes

A foggy day in Manchester...

It's not often that we get weather other than rain in Manchester,  but this gloriously foggy morning made the perfect back drop for my latest #OOTD...

I have wanted to grab one of our Rock On Ruby totes ever since seeing Hannah Crosskey style one up on her blog - afashionfix.com These gorge, canvas bags are perfectly spacious and can really funk up a simple outfit. This burgundy colour is fab for A/W and I couldn't resist a Harry Potter quote in the run up to Halloween...

This gorgeous statement necklace is a fab find that I got from Topshop in the sale. The great thing about Topshop jewellery is that they often reuse the same styles from season to season and simply update the colour scheme...

Make LOVE not Horcruxes.

This beaut kimono was a new bargain from Primark (£15!) The colour is gorge and has a subtle pattern running through.

What slogan would you choose to put on a tote bag?
