OOTD: New Season inspo

New season inspiration on the Rock On Holly Fashion Blog

So, we had this conversation today at work where we talked about our current wardrobe situation, and I confessed that my wardrobe is preeeetty miserable. Like, seriously, there are literally 3 colours in there - navy, black and grey. (Or maybe even just black and grey...)

But yesterday I tried on this super cool, yellow shirt from ASOS, and G'ham just looked at me and said, "You look like your mum". **Which I must stress, is not a bad thing, as Mother Debs is super stylish and will be featuring on this very blog, very soon** However, obviously I want to look like me? Even when wearing colour?!

So how to do this?

Tip 1: I think the trick is to think about your colour palette. For me, it's very very rare that I would wear pink. It just doesn't appeal to my grungy self at all. However... the dusky pink tone of this beautiful top from Ark is muted enough to add colour to my wardrobe but still blend well with my existing black, grey and navy items :)

Tip 2: Another trick is to add colour through your accessories! This super shiny bag from the amazing Skinny Dip shimmers all kinds of pink, and I love it. FYI, this was a pressie from my mum. I told you she was cool.

Please excuse my hair... I'm booked in at the hairdressers tomorrow! However, I wanted to show the beautiful button-up detail on the back of this top.

Just to let you know, despite not suiting me in particular, the ASOS shirt was actually really cool... a great vintage, thick shirt - and only £30!

Also, Ark currently have 30% off their site as they are having a massive clearance Sale, so bag some bargains whilst you can....
