Following on from yesterday's style challenge with New Look!
Yesterday's post was all about comfort, and loose, slouchy fitting pieces... This post shows how you can turn your kimono into a tailored piece to add to your night time look.
As much as I love the tiled print on the bottom of this New Look kimono, I wanted to completely transform this to make the look obviously different. I have crossed the kimono over (like a wrap top) and tucked this into my shorts to create more of a blouse.
Tips: Firstly, I would recommend taking your kimono with high waisted shorts, trousers or a skirt. The waistband will then help to keep the kimono in place, whereas low waisted bottoms might not work as well.
Secondly, if you're worried about keeping your modesty in tact, add a little safety pin at the bust to hold your kimono in place!

I love this look. I'd be happy to wear this on a night out in Summer as the kimono is loose and airy, and really comfortable! I like the mix of prints with the kimono and shorts :-) I have been dying to get my hands on another pair of lace up heels as they seem to be all the rage at the moment. So I was over the moon when these beauties arrived from Fashionchick!! LOVE.
The black goes with everything and the quality of the suede is gorge. Surprisingly, they not only look great, but are really comfortable too. Bonus!
Hope you like how I've styled this!
