What to wear to a fashion show?
Fashion shows are funny things... Obviously there are going to be super trendy clothes on the runway. And everyone who attends has a serious interest in fashion. So it stands to reason that you would be in serious need of a super fashionable outfit to wear to such a show? That's where my problem began.
Not only was I due to attend one of the most popular shows by Dutch sisters, Spijker & Spijker, but the show that I was attending was in Amsterdam. I was there to represent the UK blogger network of fashionchick - so what the hell was I going to wear?!
Luckily a couple of weeks before I headed out to Amsterdam, I decided to pay the Zara sale a visit. And there, hanging on the rails, with only one left, I found this most beautiful patterned co-ord.
I had seen the set when it was full price but at the time didn't have anywhere special to wear it. But now!? Amsterdam was the perfect destination! The skirt was the perfect fit and even though the top was 1 size too big, it just needed a little adjusting to complete the set.
Tip: If your item is a sale bargain, it's well worth buying something like this and asking a tailor (your mum) to tweak it to fit!
I loved the colourful, vibrant print and the style was slightly 50s which I LOVE.
This, teamed with my AMAZING Zara lace up heels and Dorothy Perkins blue clutch, created my fashion week look! The final, finishing touch was my gorgeous Pandora bracelet*, to which I added a tropical Palm tree charm - very in keeping with the look!
My diamond ring is from Gemporia* and the Pandora Bracelet* I have worn before in my Nautical outfit post... This time I switched up the charm to go with my tropical look!
I was so impressed by my Amsterdam Fashion Week experience! When we arrived into the courtyard outside the show, there were large black Mercedes dropping fashionable guests off at the doors... And paparazzi were snapping our outfits for street style inspiration! It was really interesting to see what the other bloggers chose to wear too, as we had a real mix of styles!
Massive thanks to Fashionchick again for taking me to Amsterdam!
Have you ever been to a fashion show before? Was it how you imagined?
